Iden).

After a ~week+ down with a mystery bug, I'm finally functional enough to code again.
Sat down to start on example #iden notebooks and decided I needed to expand the library a bit first. Which I hope to finish tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I got an email (finally) telling me my background check has finally been finished and I've been deemed worthy to deliver stuff for #doordash
Yay. I need to start visiting the outside world a bit and delivering food sounds like a good way to pass the time.

Generating an #iden identity makes for an interesting benchmark:
* On my Alienware laptop from 2022, it takes a bit over 4 minutes.
* On my 2019 laptop, 26 minutes.
* On the Digital Ocean VM the node runs on, 43 minutes (!).
I'm guessing something in the #RaspberryPI class might take a bit over an hour?
And I'm guessing something nice from 2025 would probably be able to do it in under a minute ;-).
Maybe not, but probably.

#iden Quick-start verified: Creating and sourcing the #python and #rust virtual environments to compile and install, generating an identity, starting the pad manager, and how to import the library in a #jupyter notebook ready to write and read and poke at the test node.

I have 12 days I have to face the world again. A not quite formed idea I'd nudged at for over a decade came clear and turned into a protocol and spec and more code than I've ever written in my life all or am likely to ever write again in the past few weeks thanks to an 'aha' moment after moving, & then landing a job that didn't start for a month and a half.
It's code that wants to be re-implemented "with variation and selection for all". #p2p #selfsovereignidenity #distributedcomputing #iden -
