The new 青葉市子 Ichiko Aoba album is out now, and it's gorgeous. I had to look up the location of the second track (24° 3′ 27.0″ N, 123° 47′ 7.5″ E), and it's Hateruma-jima 波照間島 in Okinawa, the southernmost inhabited island in Japan. Apparently you can reach it for day trips from Ishigaki, and now I wish I had gone there when I was last in Ishigaki 😁

Ikinokori Bokura - Ichiko Aoba
This is a sweet introspective song. Really loving it.
The tune reminded me of something by another musician I couldn't quite remember. Maybe John Mayer or Nick Drake.But finally reading lyric translations today, it is...kinda dark themed.
Now, having watched the video as well, the imagery seems to capture both the light sound and dark theme pretty fittingly.
