Ein ICE-S der DB Systemtechnik hat zusammen mit einem Velaro-Novo-Waggon von Siemens Mobility 405 km/h auf der Schnellfahrstrecke VDE 8 geschafft. Technisch ist der ICE-S für 440 km/h vorbereitet, was mit dem Zug aber noch nie ausprobiert wurde.
