@stavvers I had a chance to test file.pizza between two #GrapheneOS devices on my home network with predictably disappointing results.

#VanadiumBrowser didn't work for either sharing or downloading:
* security hardened #ChromiumBrowser.

#DuckDuckGoBrowser works for sharing only.

#IceRaven works for sharing and downloading:
* fork of #Firefox

That transferring files worked at all, with any combination of browsers was a surprise. 😯

Say hello to my new daily driver. It's not that different from my old daily driver (#Firefox Mobile), in fact it's exactly the same - only with "proprietary bits and telemetry removed".

Going by the developer of both Fennec and #Iceraven, the big difference - #Mull included - is how many extensions you're limited to.

So I'm not exactly hoisting my leg out of the pond, but more dipping my feet.

#firefox per Android mi ha disattivato i plugin per via di un certificato.. scaduto..non è servito a nulla aggiornare..🤦🙀.hanno tutte questo problema..caso strano succede adesso per la dismissione di "coso V2 o come si chiama"....non posso stare in balia di questi cialtroni, non mi fa disattivare il cek dei plug-in, le solite cagate che ultimamente partoriscono 😡🥱

i don’t download #Firefox directly. i use FFUpdater. it not only has all the iterations of FF, it has others like Tor browser, Brave and an especially degoogled and deMozillaed FF for android called #Iceraven, which is my main Firefox browser on #Android.

yes, de-Mozillaed as it not having Pocket and all the other surveillance capitalism crap Mozilla has been pushing onto the browser.

If you're using #ffupdater on Google's #Android #Linux you may have noticed that #Firefox seems to be updated frequently (every few days). #Fennec and #Iceraven do not appear to be updated anywhere near as often (weeks?). Which way is best for keeping Firefox up to date on #AlpineLinux? :)

Sticking with #Iceraven on Android (via APK install). #Librewolf, which I now use on Linux, has no Android version and they suggest #MullBrowser (via Fdroid) but it wouldn't sync for me.

As for email I use the #Betterbird soft fork of #Thunderbird on #Linux (easier to set up for windows, btw) and the excellent #FairEmail on #Android.

Anyone know why my #Firefox account keeps logging out? Plays hell with syncing and sharing (#Iceraven fork on Android).

Doing some small changes on my personal setup. I got #librewolf set up as default browser on my personal laptop and #iceraven on my phone.
I've been using lobrewolf on my wotk laptop for the non-work stuff (logged in to my personal youtube account and reafing news sites) for a while. Still not sure I would use it for work as well, it's "bad enough" as it is that I'm doing web development while not mainly using something chrome based anyway. 😄

Wish I didn't have a reason for doing this, but it is what it is.

Extensions are one of the things that makes Firefox so great; I'd been relying on Iceraven and other forks since ~2020 but I finally switched back to mainline Firefox today!

@Newk I started out with #Tusky, but mostly use a self hosted #Phanpy saved to the home screen from #IceRaven.

Weird #GrapheneOS tip: sharing a link from #Vanadium to #Tusky provides both the title and the link, whereas sharing to the clipboard or most other apps only provides the link. It also works with #IceRaven, and possibly other Firefox derivatives, but NOT #DuckDuckGoBrowser. 🤬

My guess is this also works with #Android and #Chrome.

Though I an using the #IceRaven browser, the article has gotten me thinking of looking at the #MullBrowser a little closer.

I have been using #DuckDuckGoBrowser for search and quick article reads, #Vanadium for anything I want to log into or keep session cookies, and IceRaven for longer reads or #ReadAloud.
