Decent, but, for mine, doesn’t feel likely to enter the broader lexicon. If you’re going to pitch yourself in the realm of operators/ops your scheme should be about more than just alleged nepotism hiring and white-anting people outside the group. This isn’t IBAC, this is the big leagues. That said, credit for having the three variants.

ICAC is apparently taking a look at some interesting offers a dodgy property developer allegedly made to Parramatta city councillors:
"The New South Wales corruption watchdog is examining allegations fugitive property developer Jean Nassif sought to bribe members of a former Parramatta council, the ABC understands.
"The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) investigation is understood to be connected to the long-running Operation Rosny, which the NSW premier's office has previously confirmed relates to allegations Mr Nassif colluded with the Liberal Party to advance his development interests in the Hills Shire.
"One Liberal Party source described the ICAC probe into the Hills Shire and other councils — including the alleged offer of $5 million bribes at Parramatta - as "an open secret" in local government.

"Toplace had several developments in front of the Parramatta Council before it collapsed into administration, including the contentious Macquarie Towers development.
"What started as a proposal for 30-storey twin towers on council-owned land became mired in controversy after Parramatta council inspectors discovered Toplace excavated three more levels than had been approved and had failed to waterproof.

"The council sold its interest in the site to Toplace in 2019 for a reported $41 million.
"However, the development was not completed before the company went into administration in 2023, owing creditors more than $2 billion."

Nassif is responsible for some of the more... Structurally interesting apartment towers that have gone up around Parramatta in recent years:
"The owners of apartments inside a troubled high-rise in Western Sydney are on the brink of ruin, unable to cover an $18 million bill to replace the building’s highly flammable and potentially deadly cladding.
"And the developer behind the complex at 29 Hunter Street in Parramatta is long gone, with NSW Police having issued a warrant for his arrest in 2023."

@spinopsys Corruption is at the heart of Australia’s anti-corruption commission. Brereton is providing oversight of himself. I’m sure that works in the same way he decided not to investigate Scott Morrison and his cabinet for their blatant Robodebt crimes. He doesn’t want to scrutinise their crimes because the public might want to see them charged.

Some of the councillors at the City of Parramatta are apparently still in the dark about why ICAC raided its staff offices last month.
"Councillors in the City of Parramatta are seeking more information and independent legal advice about a raid conducted by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) in its staff offices last month.
"The Herald three weeks ago revealed the powerful anti-corruption body raided the staff offices of the council hours before a council meeting and seized the mobile phones of several senior staff.
"Councillors were not informed about the raid before the story was published, and at multiple times since have been told the matter cannot be discussed, which is a standard procedure for matters involving the ICAC.
"Councillors are pushing the council to address the matter before next Monday’s meeting.
"Independent councillor Kellie Darley will propose at the meeting that the council acknowledge community concerns over the “entry” to the offices, and Liberal councillor Steven Issa has submitted a question on notice about risk and reputational exposure.
"Darley is seeking the council’s support for Liberal Lord Mayor Martin Zaiter and Labor Deputy Lord Mayor Cameron Maclean to obtain independent legal advice on the matter and to arrange a briefing for councillors on their rights and responsibilities.

Speaking of history, I wonder whether historians are taking note of the fact that the Woods Royal Commission (into NSW police corruption) resulted in the establishment of the NSW Police Integrity Commission (a police watchdog that removed at least a few egregiously corrupt individuals), which was later folded (along with other anti-corruption instruments) into the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC), which was then de-funded by the (ICAC-confirmed) corrupt former #Coalition premier #GladysBerejiklian to a fraction of the former PIC budget, to the point where it only has the resources to investigate a mere ~2% of complaints it receives? The same premier also slashed the funding for #ICAC, to the point where it didn't have the resources to complete the investigation into her own corrupt behaviour in a timely manner (that delay ironically becoming one of bases for her failed attempt to appeal the findings made against her).
