  1. ‼️A new @zemki working paper by Uwe Hasebrink, @WLoosen and myself - which we also presented at the last #ICA24.

ℹ️ What is the core message?

We argue that #publics should be seen more relationally than in many approaches: whether the #refiguration of #public #communication through #pioneerjournalism, the #journalism- #audience relationship or #mediarepertoires and public connection - it is all about relationalities. But how can we analyse them in a proper way?

  7. The #ICA24 FOMO was real, but I feel better knowing that will meet many of my aca-friends in Amsterdam for the Global Digital Intimacies conference this week, where I will be talking about how my ideas on moods & ViBeZ have been evolving. I’m part of a stellar panel and the whole program looks AWESOME, I can’t wait:

  9. Many congratulations to @rebekahtromble, well-deserved winner of the David Swanson Award for Service to Political Communication Scholarship. As @claesdevreese writes:

"I don’t think I have the right words to describe how well deserved it is that the fabulous Rebekah Tromble just won the David Swanson Award from the #polcomm #ica24 division.

Awarded for unique and selfless service to the field: data access for research 👏🏼 "

  10. Anne Kaun (@akaun) and Fredrik Stiernstedt have won the International Communication Association's 2024 Outstanding Book Award for "Prison Media," which examines prisons as media environments and as sites where communication technologies — especially those that facilitate user surveillance — are pioneered and refined. The book is a tremendous scholarly and public contribution. 1/3

  12. 😰 Constantly running between the two venues, which means I’m hardly keeping up with posting my #ICA24 liveblogging today. So, here’s a whole bunch of posts from the past four sessions today:
