Back from #ic2s2 which was again a fantastic conference experience - congrats to the organizers! Some professors got a poster this time, which was actually super fun to design and present - haven't done it since my 1st year of PhD 16 years ago 👴

Seeing talk titles at #ic2s2 I can't be the only one, when reading LLM or AI, having to react with "oh, yet another one 🙄"? No disrespect to colleague's work, but the topic feels overhyped.. Not *everything* needs an LLM angle. #grinchmoment

I've been spending the summer taking stock of the growing, maturing field of qualitative computational methods (compu/qual? quali-quant?). This subfield is now a powerhouse, and I'll be sharing my reflections at #IC2S2 on the state of the field, ongoing (fierce!) debates, and possible futures?

Roundup of NERDS at IC2S2: #IC2S2 was a smashing success! The CSS community is refreshingly young - it brought together experts and ideas from different fields for a true, unpolitical exchange and cross-pollination. This is how science should be done.
