  1. #SkyWatch #Astrophotography This image is an example of me #StillLearning because I didn't actually know what it was. A few nights ago, I was waiting for the Dumbbell Nebula to rise above the horizon and decided to try to capture something nearby. I moved my telescope to what I thought was the #Butterfly Nebula but when I looked it up later, my photo looked nothing like what I found online. There are multiple nebula called the Butterfly. So here is 12 stacked five minute exposures of #IC1318.

  6. #SkyWatch #Astrophotography #Sadr is the bright star in this image. Also known as #GammaCygni it is the central star of the cross that makes up the #Cygnus constellation and is about 1800 light years from Earth. It is not the source of the large emission nebula #IC1318 that appears to surround it. #IC1318 is about 5000 light years from Earth and is sometimes called the #ButterflyNebula #StillLearning

  11. This is the region around Sadr, the star in the center of the image, which is part of the constellation Cygnus. We see IC 1318, the Butterfly Nebula, an emission nebula crossed by a dark nebula.
