Ça semble prometteur!
Bon, évidemment ça marche pas sous Wayland et Sway... mais c'est pas pour moi donc c'est pas forcément grave. Il faut que je teste sur une autre machine.

I don't remember who asked me about the #bitwigstudio #keyboard input issue that I mentioned when I was still on #manjaro.
Today, I came across crash logs indicating that "ibus-x11" can crash when Bitwig Studio is run on a #wayland session, resulting in Bitwig Studio losing keyboard input capability.
I did not have this problem on #archlinux anymore because #ibus is not installed by default and must be installed separately.

@diegomota Já tentou instalar o pacote ibus ou o pacote ibus-typing-booster (para autocompletar)? Esse último é usado no Fedora. Tenho ele instalado no Arch Linux. Não tenho esses problemas no Firefox. #firefox #gnome #ibus #archlinux

After upgrading my Guix System to 24a46e9 IceCat has lost the ability to work with ibus. I can't enter UNICODEs (Ctrl+Shift+U) nor type Japanese, even though these work okay in other applications...
I think this is not the first time this happens but I can't remember how to fix it.
If anyone has a clue...

anyone know how to fix this problem? I have encountered one post that have the same issue with me but the fix doesn't work.

I don't know if it because of Wayland or not. but the problem mostly on Chromium app, and doesn't even work on Android Studio. -

Went through MX 23 and Fedora KDE before landing back on Fedora 41 (GNOME) Workstation. Solid as always, and works with Brailleblaster (with openjdk) and my other language input settings (ibus) flawlessly.
Next, to generate my own nemeth replacements on Brailleblaster for the special math characters! -
ibus-typing-booster is now 77% translated to #Kabyle language, thanks to @Taflelli 🚀

KDE #lokalize and #ibus both apps are stop working together again with KDE Plasma (wayland) Fedora 40. with Fedora 39, switched from ibus to xkb input method for the same reason.
Good news is that There are lof of work by KDE volunteers for migrate to KF6 recently, like:

Really Appreciate the efforts. Hopefully that will help to fix the input issue.

Heh. #Bodhi #Linux's native IME went weird and everything. Suddenly, it can only see one variant of a keyboard layout.
So, I tried to install #iBus again, play around with it (which I no longer remember what I did). iBus can type in Hangeul (finally, it didn't work before) but can't type in Baybayin for some weird reason (all xkb files are correct).
In the end, I mixed Bodhi's native keyboard and iBUS. Type baybayin, I switch keyboard through Bodhi's keyboard app; type Hangeul I switch keyboard through iBUS.
As much as I like Bodhi Linux, I'm not going to use this again because of this IME issue. For one, they shouldn't force people to use their native IME/keyboard app. I just can't find a way to make iBUS work properly, and it has been an issue since 2016/2017 as far search engine results are concerned, and no one found a “fix”.
Or maybe, it's not Bodhi's fault, but Moksha or Elementary. I don't know. This is why Gnome, is so popular, you have a choice and it just works.

Reported the #ibus pre-edit text problem. Found out it was already fixed (but the bug report didn't report the same error as me… or the same behaviour!)
But my new package with just that change _has_ fixed the issue. So if you're using ibus 1.5.29 and have lingering pre-edit text, try this patch (or my package, if you're on #openSUSE Tumbleweed):
