During the many enterprise infrastructure conferences I attended this spring, some physically, some virtually, a set of common themes and engineering questions began to emerge in the field of #AgenticOps the #agentic #AI successor to #AIOps.
Namely, how can #AIagents achieve the consistency and reliability necessary to manage production infrastructure without human and deterministic bottlenecks or exploding #token costs?
This just-published feature summarizes months of in-depth chinwags with various industry sources, including several of my ever-patient analyst friends, at conferences including #GoogleCloudNext, #IBMThink, #RHSummit, #DellTechWorld, #DASH2026 and #CiscoLive.

#Quantumcomputing was a big theme this week at #IBMThink, as #quantumadvantage now appears closer than ever, according to #IBM CEO Arvind Krishna. Early adopters such as Cleveland Clinic, Boeing and Allstate were on hand at the conference to talk about how they're using the technology.
My colleague Kathleen Casey covers it all comprehensively but digestibly here, including the implications for enterprise #AI:

I sat down at #IBMThink with Zachary Womack, SEI's CTO of platforms and applications, to learn more about why the firm chose #IBM Consulting for a project to expand agentic #AI beyond IT teams to business stakeholders, and to make sense of disparate tools.
