Well, I had the dip switches set incorrectly and it was trying to test memory that didn't exist. Fixed that and the floppy drives seem to work as well...
I'm also impressed that the Dell System 200 DOS 3.3 Master disk (circa 1987) is still working.

Working on an #IBM5150 for #DOScember. Following troubleshooting guide on MinusZeroDegrees.net. PSU seems good (stays on when plugged into board), but no beep code from speaker.
Does the T1 Trimmer look ok? It could be broken as mine doesn’t look like the one in photos online.
No obvious damage, no exploding caps, and voltages look good coming off PSU at P8 & P9 connectors.

It's only after I rekindled my interest in old computers 5-6 years ago that I eventually learned that CGA was a lot more capable than I believed back in the day. Some of the demos on IBM 5150 PCs with the original CGA adapter are impressive.

Today in “Things I don’t understand”™️ we have “how to figure out if my IBM 5150 has access to all its RAM”, “how to interpret the manual clarifying the dip switch positions on the motherboard”, and “how to get the Hercules video card to display graphics”.
Granted, electronic #RetroComputing is quite new to me, but this has me feeling like a complete dunce. Otherwise, I like the #IBM5150 / #IBMPC / #IBMPersonalComputer quite well.
