Columna Sociedad | La bomba que cayó en Sinaloa
La acusación que nos sorprendió ayer desde los Estados Unidos sacude el escenario político mexicano, y ha colocado bajo una presión inédita al gobernador de Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, su administración y, por extensión, al gobierno federal.

Es una historia que se fue construyendo desde el periodo electoral de 2021, entre versiones periodísticas, filtraciones y señalamientos que hoy encontraron forma en una acusación formal del gobierno de los Estados Unidos.
Lo que se puso sobre la mesa es un presunto acuerdo entre actores de Morena en Sinaloa —incluido el gobernador— y los hijos de Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, particularmente Iván Archivaldo Guzmán y Ovidio Guzmán, con el objetivo de incidir en el resultado electoral de aquel 2021. A cambio, según la acusación estadounidense, se habría permitido el acceso y control de áreas estratégicas como la Secretaría de Seguridad, corporaciones policiales y la Fiscalía estatal.
El caso cruzó una línea decisiva al ser validado por un “gran jurado” en los Estados Unidos, lo que implica que el Departamento de Justicia haya presentado “elementos suficientes” para sustentar la persecución penal. A partir de ello, se giró una orden de aprehensión y se activó una solicitud de detención provisional, ya confirmada por la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores en México. Este punto es clave, porque bajo ese mecanismo no se requiere la presentación inmediata de pruebas, sino que se actúa bajo un criterio de urgencia ante posibles riesgos de fuga o peligrosidad.
En este sentido, el procedimiento judicial se rige por el tratado bilateral de extradición entre México y Estados Unidos. En ese marco, las autoridades estadounidenses cuentan con un plazo de 60 días para enviar las pruebas formales que sustenten la solicitud, mientras que México deberá evaluar si concede o no la extradición. Sin embargo, la dimensión política y legal se entrelaza desde ahora, porque las detenciones podrían ejecutarse de forma inmediata en el caso de quienes no cuentan con fuero constitucional.
Ahí aparece uno de los nudos más complejos del caso; el gobernador Rubén Moya y el senador Enrique Inzunza Cázarez, están protegidos por fuero, lo que obliga a iniciar procesos para retirarlos. Estos procedimientos no son automáticos; responden a dinámicas políticas internas que pueden alargar, o incluso frenar, el curso judicial, a menos que los implicados decidan renunciar voluntariamente a su cargo para enfrentar las acusaciones.
En contraste, los otros ocho actores señalados —como autoridades municipales— no cuentan con esa protección, lo que abre la posibilidad de detenciones inmediatas, si el gobierno mexicano, a través de la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), así lo determina.
El caso, además, se desarrolla en medio de una fuerte carga política en ambos lados de la frontera; mientras en México se habla de prudencia y de esperar pruebas, en los Estados Unidos el proceso ya superó un filtro judicial relevante. La acusación incluye presuntos encuentros entre el gobernador y los hijos de “El Chapo” antes y después de la elección, así como evidencia documental como fotografías y registros que han sido descritos como “narconóminas”, según se desprende del expediente judicial.
Genaro García LunaDe esta manera, tenemos el antecedente de procesos como el de Genaro García Luna, donde testimonios y pruebas circunstanciales fueron suficientes para sostener una condena; bajo esa lógica, es un expediente que ya fue validado en términos judiciales.
Por si fuera poco, episodios como el “Culiacanazo”, la liberación de Ovidio Guzmán ordenada durante el sexenio de Andrés Manuel López Obrador, y las reiteradas sospechas sobre vínculos entre autoridades y el crimen organizado, forman parte de una narrativa que hoy encuentra un nuevo capítulo. A ello se suma la detención de Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, quien incluso señaló al gobernador en una carta pública, lo que incrementó la presión mediática y política.
Estas acusaciones acumuladas, que durante años parecían dispersas o insuficientes, hoy convergen en el expediente judicial que obliga a replantear el alcance de la relación entre poder político y crimen organizado. En ese trayecto, también se han señalado irregularidades en investigaciones locales, incluyendo versiones oficiales que posteriormente fueron desmentidas por instancias federales, por ejemplo, el entorno donde murió Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda, evento donde también se registró el secuestro de Ismael «El Mayo» Zambada.
Así, la postura que adopte el gobierno federal este jueves desde el atril presidencial, impactará la relación bilateral con los Estados Unidos y la percepción interna sobre el combate a la corrupción y la impunidad. El respaldo previo al gobernador, tanto en el pasado como en el presente, se convierte ahora en un factor que condiciona la respuesta institucional.
En el fondo, más allá de nombres y cargos; este caso no solo define el futuro de un gobernador o de un grupo político, sino la capacidad del Estado mexicano para responder ante acusaciones de esta magnitud, bajo la mirada de un sistema judicial internacional que ya ha dado un primer paso. Sin duda, aún no tenemos claridad de los alcances de la bomba que cayó en Sinaloa.

Screening of 3,500 compounds against human stem cells induced to an inflamed condition, followed by testing in mice, found that glycyrrhizin, a compound extracted from black licorice, reduced inflammation and cell death. The results may point toward a treatment for IBD and Crohn's Disease.
