My school has imposed a clause that says they are happy to pay for PD opportunities but the cost is only covered if you stay on for 6 terms. If you leave the job within that time you have to pay it back. I can understand that, but our school has 5 teaching blocks a year called 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e. So far no one has confirmed what a term is... I just got the #IUPAC conference #ICCE in Pattaya, Thailand OK'd and plan on staying in my job for 2 years, but it could impact future PD decisions. #Teaching #ChemistryTeacher #IBChemistry @edutooter

Just looked at my chem results for 2023. They did pretty well! Quite a few of them levelled up for their final exam. Only three 3s (SL) across a cohort of 96, all HL passed. Interested in the IA sample as all the 20+ scores were marked down by 2 or 3. Looking forward to the mark schemes too. #IBChemistry #Chemistry #Teaching #Results

It is week 1 of IA week at school. I have been in the lab with year 12 chemists for 13 and a half hours in 3 days... The lab stays open from 2-5pm so I am doing long days. This year are by far the neediest students we have had in my time at this school. Only a week and a half to go!
