KCCI just said the last remaining tornado warning from NWS has been cancelled.
I have confirmed that there are no warnings on the NWS page. Looks like the most severe weather is over for the evening.
KCCI 8-2 just ended their weather coverage and reverted to regularly scheduled programming (Golden Girls).

KCCI is saying in a guarded way that the storm they are tracking at the moment has mostly “overrun” the only open tornado warning area, but it remains open until 10 pm. KCCI is saying the rotation has reduced. They are hinting they think the NWS may cancel the warning, but it remains open.

KCCI is saying the overall storm strengths are declining. They are still monitoring, but it sounds like the danger levels overall are greatly decreased. The strongest rotation they are monitoring is approaching Chariton, Iowa.

KCCI is saying that the “rotation” has passed the Des Moines downtown, no tornado, but damaging winds. Heading for eastern part of Des Moines Iowa.
Another tornado warning is still open heading in the Marshalltown Iowa area.

Watching Ryan Hall as Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and beyond deal with tornados, hail, flooding. 12 tornado warnings at the moment. Four fatalities just announced from one of the tornados. Hoping everyone else can stay safe. Ryan is sure doing all he can to get warnings out to people.

Well, tonight is the conclusion of the four-day #KnoxvilleNationals, aka the Super Bowl of #Sprintcar #racing
Based on the #IAWX forecast of TS and possible +TS in the area today and tonight, it will be a MIRACLE if this event is not cancelled.
The track prep crew at Knoxville is best in the country, but too much rain means too slick of a track, and 900+HP, 1,400 lb. race cars do not do well on slippery surfaces.

#MNwx #WIwx #IAwx #ILwxAll of which reminds me - I grew up in MN and the last year I lived there the temperature swing was from 37 below to 105 above. Those extremes were too much for my delicate sensibilities which is why I moved to the PNW. Plus I liked the idea of *really* big trees.

3. The Northeast U.S. heat dome will aim tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into the Central Plains and Upper Great Lakes region for heavy rain including cities like #Minneapolis. Isolated rainfall totals in excess of 100 mm are possible in a large region from Kansas to Western Ontario.
