To celebrate Alien turning 47 years old recently, I'll be posting one or two follow-up videos.
"Of The Marsh" on YouTube has complied a video of "just the tech" scenes which are showcased in Alien.
If you groove to this video, you loose... and you're gonna loose.

Alien has to be the best "Cassette Futurism" vibe ever put to film.

(ARTE, Neu)

Terry Gilliam – „Time Bandits“ (1981)
(ARTE, Wh)

Kenneth Branagh, Robert De Niro – „Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein“ (1994)

(ZDF)

I just watched "Alien: Romulus" today.
It's a great mix of using the things that work in the franchise, and omits the things that don't.

In The Fifth Element, the apartment that Korben Dallas lives in is no longer a thing of the cyberpunk future. Coffin apartments are here. But, there are features we don't currently have: a self-making bed, cigarette dispenser, a weapons locker, and a window in the sky that allows for your favourite self-propelled noodle shop to pull up in.
I'm envious of those on demand noodles.
