Hey autistic community. I got a question about autism and HSP. I remember a discussion on the fedi, that HSP is an ableist invention and that HSP actually are on the autistic spectrum. But I don't have any clues about that, nor links to the old discussion. Research on the web always results in speaking of both of two different things. I am curious, what's your take on ASD vs HSP?

Today I took a nap with the earplugs I recently bought. I slept for three hours in the most complete and beautiful silence. These things are a one-way trip; I didn't want to take them off. It was a great relief for my brain and greatly reduced my tinnitus.

Can anyone recommend an adult toothpaste that's not mint flavoured (or menthol)? Ideally with fluoride although that's not a deal-breaker either way.

CW: What I want you to know about me
Thank y’all for following me! 🥰
To continue a little introduction of me:
#art in general is the only thing that makes me wanna breathe and open my eyes in the morning. I believe that most art comes from the place of #hypersensitivity as a reaction to this weird world. At least for me it is. #queer #newonmastodon

@francineemilia That's among the things I most dislike about Brazil: the tendency of people here to enjoy really loud sounds.
This makes me stressed and sometimes even physically a bit ill :(

CW: Slippers | Shoe Sizing
I don’t get how shoe sizing can be literally standardized yet grossly inconsistent. What do I mean? So, I have extreme difficulty due to sensory difficulty finding shoes which fit me comfortably. I’m extremely sensitive to any amount of pressure experienced against the sides of my toes, and I have wide-ish feet. Further, whenever I try on a pair of shoes which are particularly bad in that way, I can’t effectively adjudicate any other shoes for a long while before the discomfort fades.
So, these slippers (‘Clogs’ as the branding for them in #lidl stated), they’re UK size 11.5 or UK size 12. I bought these ones because they were the largest there, and I suspected they would be much smaller than their claimed size. Thankfully, I was right. They juuuust fit comfortably. My favourite/comfortable shoes are size 10 shoes, but they seem to be significantly bigger inside than many size 11 shoes, yet smaller than some size 9.5 shoes. Why? (And no, the size 10 shoes really haven’t stretched out much.)
From the various images below, you can see the difference between the shoes/clogs. The only thing I can think of as the reason for the clogs being described as such a great size is if they’re measuring/working by the external dimensions as opposed to the internal ones. But that wouldn’t make sense, because the sizing standards are there to ensure one can fit their feet into the subject footwear. Like, what?
