ACTION ALERT: For years, the water around Hyde St Pier in #SF has been marred by the rainbow sheen of oil. The #pollution isn't surprising -- the area is the site of old, deteriorating oil infrastructure. So our field team has been investigating & advocating for solutions.

Now, the responsible agency has proposed a new plan to clean up the oily mess. But the proposal is deeply flawed.

I visited the #hydestreetpier for the first time! How many times have I walked through fisherman's wharf up to Ghirardelli square and seen the tall ships near the maritime park and Ghirardelli Square, yet did not visit them.

Two tall ships to board and explore.

I find the cables and ropes and mast all create symmetry and patterns to my eye. Striking.
