New cap is in. 16V instead of 10V and 105°C instead of 85°C. Should be fine for the next few decades. 🙂

Wall-wart PSU design from 1983. Not sure if I should laugh or cry. 😂 Wires are just wrapped together. Not a single drop of solder inside that thing at all.
I'd like to replace that cap, but fear breaking it in the process.

Seems like I did not break anything. And the contrast of the LCD is amazing. 🥳 No idea if that is because of the new caps. It certainly was way worse before.

#nearfest was a lot of fun. My #epson #hx20 and #px8 haul. These voice modules are pretty sweet. Also have a bunch of tapes, carrying cases, batteries, etc. #retrocomputing #vintagecomputers
