  1. More information on Los Angeles County evacuation warnings for incoming rainfall.

    "Evacuation Information

Note that this information is not in chronological order; it is arranged by topic and updated as needed.

Wireless Emergency Alerts were sent to notify zones near recent burn areas of an Evacuation Warning that will go into effect at 11 am on Wednesday, 12/31/25. The zones under Evacuation Warning are marked on the map below.

Burn Scar Areas Specified Evacuation Warnings
As of Wednesday, December 31, 11:00 AM

Law Enforcement personnel in the field are also notifying specific properties about the Evacuation Warnings in recent wildfire burn scare areas effective 12/31/2025 at 11:00 AM. This is due to weather forecasts and the possibility of mud and debris flows.

Law enforcement personnel are making door to door contact to notify those specific properties. Since these are specific properties and not entire local zones, those locations will not be individually depicted on the map below."

  2. Flaw in Edison’s equipment in Sylmar sparked two major wildfires in last six years, lawyers say

Southern California Edison’s admission that its equipment may have ignited the Hurst fire in the San Fernando Valley on Jan. 7
is being seized on by lawyers suing the utility company for another fire in the same area nearly six years earlier.

💥Both the #Saddleridge Fire in 2019 and the #Hurst Fire this year started beneath an Edison high-voltage transmission line in Sylmar.

💥The lawyers say faulty equipment on the line ignited both blazes in the same way.

“The evidence will show that five separate fires ignited at five separate SCE transmission tower bases in the same exact manner as the fire that started the Saddleridge fire,”
the lawyers wrote of the Hurst fire in a June 9 filing in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The lawyers said the January wildfire is “further evidence” that a transmission pylon known as
    🔥 "Tower 2-5 “ is improperly grounded.”

  25. There is, and was, no lightning.

These massive LA County fires were caused by humans. Or a hostile bear dropping flint stones in various locations. If not accidental, we call that arson. Unless it was a bear. Then we call animal control.

Climate change and arson are not mutually exclusive. Especially if one has political motivation to start fires in California during a climate emergency.

It wouldn't be the first time someone stupidly started a brush fire. A teen playing with fireworks started one up here (in a tinder-dry location, of course). The problem I see with the LA County fires being an accident is that they are far apart. Even if the first one was accident or stupidity, what were the others? Given the distance between them and the general direction of the strong winds and gusts, not drifting embers.

There will be a lot of angry people when they get to that stage of grief. I hope authorities realize that and don't overreact. Ha. When have Los Angeles authorities ever overreacted? 🙄

  26. I can't wait to discover the identity of the person or persons setting the arson fires destroying at least an estimated $50,000,000,000.00 in property damage and the loss of at least 5 lives across Los Angeles County.

As of this afternoon, firefighters had put out 50 additional fires, possibly from spotting, that could have become much worse.

    I can't wait.

  31. There are still dry hydrants in places. "It's a little bit of an issue."

People are urged to wear a mask outside. A surgical mask will reduce the burden about 20%. An N95 will improve that to about 80%. People should also protect their eyes. Mask up before going outdoors.
