My response was this:

We think just heat. Think instead energy, power, volatility, unpredictability, patterns breaking, records broken, intuitions violated.

Climate snaps routine.
We expect worse, yet change shocks.
Change is worse than worse.

That haiku/senryu was originally published at Mastodon [1], and has some accompanying notes that might help you better understand it, but the 'TL;DR' of it all is basically this:

We think 'getting worse' means 'same but slower/pricier', harder but same-shaped, that jobs'll pay less but we'll be employed, that stores'll cost more but we'll still shop, that far-off lands'll suffer, but we'll still travel or see on net.

Will we?
