  1. "Changes" is a song by the English musician #DavidBowie from his 1971 album #HunkyDory. #RCARecords then released it as a #single from the album on 7 January 1972. Written following his promotional tour of America in early 1971, "Changes" was recorded at #TridentStudios in London in July that year. Co-produced by Bowie and #KenScott, it featured #RickWakeman on piano and the musicians who would later become known as #theSpidersFromMars—#MickRonson, #TrevorBolder.

  2. Hunky Dory

Having fun at the Tuesday Night Record Club at Monmouth County University, hosted by Ken Womack.

Last night’s album was David Bowie – Hunky Dory. What’s your favorite from that album? For me, “Changes.”

  6. Postscript: #ReevesGabrels was playing slide #guitar in “country-pop” band #RubberRodeo after their 1986 release produced by #DavidBowie collaborator Ken Scott (#music engineer on #SpaceOddity & #TheManWhoSoldTheWorld, producer on #HunkyDory, #ZiggyStardust, #AladdinSane).

So a different and less-#1980s-bombast version of #Bowie’s #NeverLetMeDown could have happened then!

Maybe critics wouldn’t have panned it so hard; maybe he wouldn’t have reacted with five years of #TinMachine. Maybe, maybe…

  7. The 2015 EMI/Parlophone #Bowie remasters really do sound great. There are so many variations of this record (I have several including a UK first and a MOFI) but this one gets pulled out the most even though it’s from a digital source, which I would typically condemn on principle. But it sounds so good, who cares. #davidbowie #hunkydory #vinyl #records #nowspinning @vinylrecords
