  1. Shorebirds
travel more than 10,000 kilometres from the Northern Hemisphere to encounter dogs on all NSW breeding sites. Pet owners engage in willful ignorance and disregard the forests of signage all along the Mid North Coast coastline. It is tolerated and unenforced that canines roam on beaches and the bush.

National Park rangers had to stage "a “Dog’s Breakfast” at Hungry Head, where National Parks and Wildlife Discovery Range" attempted to nudge wo/man and their best friends to share the beach with migratory threatened shorebirds that have nowhere else to go.

"According to Bird Life Australia, some migratory shorebird populations have declined by up to 80 percent in the past 30 years. These species are highly sensitive to disturbance and can easily be scared away by humans, dogs, campfires and four-wheel drives near nesting sites."

  2. Tourist sites and natural attractions earmarked for #parking fees. "Tourist buses (and cars) that come thundering up and down our #roads all day, every day, don't pay anything, but our ratepayers cover it, so it's about bringing in some balance”

  3. I've been hanging off the bottom of this planet for 21 years, but the moon still looks upside down to me. So I've corrected the perspective this pic for #northernhemisphere folks :)

  4. Sharing a #beach with nesting shorebirds. They nest in spring and summer. This is prime beach time for people, too. #Shorebird nests are shallow and vulnerable, and birds will often abandon their eggs when humans are around. #Dogs and #4WDs pose an even bigger threat. theconversation.com/when-we-sw #birds #Urunga #HungryHead #wildlife #habitat
