The Times reported that a dossier given to the MoD last year alleged that Elbit Systems had breached business appointment rules in preparing a bid for the £2.6bn contract after a former British military officer, Brigadier Philip Kimber, attended a key meeting with Elbit in the weeks after he left the army. He had advised them how to win the contract.

The #HungerStrikers had several key demands (Thread sorry)
How far were these met yesterday bears examination
(1) immediate bail
- Not achieved(2) the right to a fair trial (which they say would include the release of documents related to “the ongoing witch-hunt of activists and campaigners”)
- Achieved documents were returned back to T Hoxha was allowed a meeting the head of the joint extremism unit at her prison, which it said “orchestrates the prisoners’ treatment as ‘terrorists’”./1

I am most sorry I neglected to mention Umer Khalid, the last remaining hunger striker. He continues to use his body as a weapon against the state in pursuit of justice.

I'm thinking about the hunger strikers. Sadness, because it does look like they're gonna die, and that if they survived they'd have lifelong damage. Respect for them, and not for the government refusing to negotiate. Obviously the govt disagrees with them but that's what discussion is for. We should be treasuring people of such integrity and courage, not squandering their life force to prop up a genocide.
And they shouldn't even be in prison this long without a trial, either. That's completely unacceptable.
Also thinking of Timpson's comment about how the prison service has lots of experience of hunger strikes. Yeah, of people refusing food for a day or two. Is he going to concede that this is a completely different thing? Is he going to concede that he's out of his depth?

Omg, I have just discovered that only one of the #hungerstrikers in 1981 went further than 71 days, where #HebaMuraisi currently is. (12th Jan), and that was only up to 73 days.
All the others, some 11 men, had passed away before 71 days.
