We had lescó for dinner tonight - a Hungarian dish of capsicum peppers and onions cooked with sliced smoked paprika sausage, known as kolbász. (The Hungarian Artisan in Tauranga makes authentic kolbász. Highly recommended.) Lescó is a very traditional Hungarian dish and while similar to ratatouille in style, it is *not* the same. This was delicious!

For dinner tonight we had what Hungarians call lescó - a stew, or ragoût, of red and green peppers, along and onions, and kolbász, or Hungarian sausage, made by the wonderful Hungarian Artisan company in Tauranga, plus some leftover boiled potatoes. It is a very 'peasant' dish, but really hearty and delicious beyond compare. No Hungarian, or indeed anyone from Central Europe, would ever pass it up.
