As a member of the S&D Group, I urged the EU to take concrete actions to support the people of Iran in their struggle for liberty and human rights. Here are four proposals I made:
1. Designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization to hold them accountable for their violent actions.
2. Sanction the leadership of the regime, including their families, to increase pressure on the government.
3. Listen to the voices of the Iranian people, especially women, who have had enough of decades of oppression.
4. Send a clear message to the mullahs that their brutal regime is no longer acceptable and must be changed.These proposals are crucial to stop the delay in achieving freedom for the people of Iran, particularly women.
