Cause information and knowledge are growing exponentially, #schools try to cram facts into the minds of students. The result is that there is less and less room for #understanding, for reflection on the world and the #meaning of life, for an understanding of #nature and #society, for #humanistic #values, for ethics...
Doing so, we are destroying our #culture and #civilization, because culture is nourished by understanding and wisdom, and civilization without understanding becomes uncontrollable. -
Also, I had an epiphany. Therapy has inherent value even in shitty situations. At the very least, counselling can* grant you an example template of a (one-sided) healthy relationship.
It's unfair to have to wait or pay for it.
Regardless of what factors facilitate that experience, still, knowing what that COULD look like is constructive.* [ I say "can" because some individuals should not be in mental health professions, others could be if they have better working conditions, and yet more can always have an off day -- or you two just might not mesh as people. It happens. ]
e.g. my therapist can't make my doctor stop being a shit, but knowing they believe me when I say it stresses me out is indispensable.
You need a handler for the spy-craft of existing while mistreated.
Someone must remind you that imagination for restructuring society is boundless.We CAN meet everyone's needs if and only if we first consider it possible.

Very thoughtful response to this query in The Bintel Brief (advice column from #TheForward).
My favorite part is this quote, "“I do think you can find your place in Jewish community, but you might not find everything you’re looking for in one community,"
This has definitely been my experience. I would be very unhappy if I was forced to choose one Jewish Community to belong to exclusively. I need my #humanistic #havurah for fellowship, inspiration, and intellectual engagement with fellow non-theists, but I also need my local brick and mortar #Reform synagogue for the experience of being part of a large pluralistic community, as well as all of the in-person opportunities for community engagement (and of course all of the programming they provide for my son).
And... I also need my non-Jewish spiritual community, my lovely quirky progressive #Mennonite church where I remain an associate member. I need to be in a space sometimes where I can be unapologetic about prioritizing #peace above all other values.

Obviously you are correct.My issue is with the word "should". You can't "should" things into existence. The system deliberately created the current set of issues, such as burning the planet.
"Not for profit" and "charity" are tax statuses. No stock ownership, so they give themselves raises.
"The Path", I believe, is like Carl Rogers created for #humanistic therapy: model the way things "would" be (if all things were equal) as a complex structure. As in OO engineering.
