A "cell village" is a novel experimental platform where neural progenitor cells from dozens of genetically distinct donors are grown together in a single, shared culture. This approach allows scientists to accurately measure each donor's individual cell fitness—specifically how well their cells grow, divide, and survive—under perfectly identical environmental conditions.
