did my Dog Pet Pal orientation at Marin Humane this morning! Next steps: shadow some current volunteers, then sessions with a mentor. I like that they are very serious about this training.

And as they said, this role isn't for everyone! Dogs in shelters, even in the best circumstances, are stressed, and need well-trained people to work with them.

So we'll see how it goes.
