  2. /2 - Of course it could only help Republicans —

who are listed at the top of #Georgia ballots (except in primaries and special elections) because of an elections rule where the name of the candidate who is of the same party as the current governor is shown at the top.

Voters who haven't researched candidates might just pick the most prominent one at the top of the list.

  4. Meditation helps me navigate the mental asylum we currently inhabit. I don’t involve others in it; they take the initiative. I simply show up and explain what, how, and why. Those who resonate with it join, while others ignore. Some become frustrated, irritated, and angry. 😂

In every human Breast, God has implanted a Principle, which we call Love of Freedom; it is impatient of Oppression, and pants for Deliverance.

  8. A quotation from John Adams

We must come to the Principles of Jesus. But, when will all Men and all Nations do as they would be done by? Forgive all Injuries and love their Enemies as themselves? I leave those profound Phylosophers whose Sagacity perceives the Perfectibility of Humane Nature, and those illuminated Theologians who expect the Apocalyptic Reign, to enjoy their transporting hopes; provided always that they will not engage us in Crusades and French Revolutions, nor burn us for doubting.

John Adams (1735–1826) American lawyer, Founding Father, statesman, US President (1797–1801)

  9. A story to remind you there is more to #humannature than the shortcomings of the US president projected onto the whole of humanity.

"Routledge said he used to believe the principle it was better to give than to receive was "rubbish, but "at last, I found the pleasure, the immense pleasure it gave me to give this to Neythen".

  10. A quotation from Einstein

The majority of the stupid is invincible and guaranteed for all time. The terror of their tyranny, however, is alleviated by their lack of consistency.

[Die Majorität der Dummen ist unüberwindbar und für alle Zeiten gesichert. Der Schrecken ihrer Tyrannei ist indessen gemildert durch Mangel an Konsequenz.]

    Albert Einstein (1879-1955) German-American physicist
Essay (1953-05-23), “Aphorisms for Leo Baeck [Neun Aphorismen], No. 5, Essays Presented to Leo Baeck on the Occasion of His Eightieth Birthday (1954) [Einstein Archives 28-962]

  11. My view on politics... (a brutally honest and autistic opinion)

Why do the most powerful countries do the things they do? Simply because they can, because it's their nature—a perverse and dark human nature.
Is the blame solely on politicians and government officials? Well, politicians and government officials are products of the same society, the same environments, families, schools, and universities. And they are placed in their positions by the same society that later denies its culture and tears its hair out over what its representatives do. Are societies victims of their leaders? Generally, no. Do they bear responsibility for what their leaders do? Yes, always.
Democracy, as it is now, obsolete, allows people to put a bunch of lunatics in charge and then wash their hands as if they had no responsibility for a bunch of sons of bitches being in charge and causing disasters.

  15. A quotation from Robert Louis Stevenson

Books were the proper remedy: books of vivid human import, forcing upon their minds the issues, pleasures, busyness, importance and immediacy of that life in which they stand; books of smiling or heroic temper, to excite or to console; books of a large design, shadowing the complexity of that game of consequences to which we all sit down, the hanger-back not least.

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) Scottish essayist, novelist, poet
    Essay (1884-05), “Old Mortality,” ch. 1, Longman’s Magazine, Vol. 4, No. 19

  16. A quotation from John Quincy Adams

All men profess honesty as long as they can. To believe all men honest would be folly. To believe none so is something worse.

  18. A quotation from James Thurber

By definition, humor is gentle. The savage, the cruel, the harsh would fall under the heading of wit and/or satire, as the lawyers say. Now, my definitions are these: The wit makes fun of other persons; the satirist makes fun of the world; the humorist makes fun of himself, but in so doing, he identifies himself with people — that is, people everywhere, not for the purpose of taking them apart, but simply revealing their true nature.

James Thurber (1894-1961) American humorist, cartoonist, writer
Interview (1959-03-24) by Edward R. Murrow, Small World, CBS-TV
