3/3 Ahead of the Council's meeting on 3 July, #HU24EU & Member State permanent reps must listen to civil society's call for a:

✅new approach to making online platforms safer for children, that doesn't lead to👏🏼generalised monitoring or👏🏾breaks #encryption.

Heute ist der Vorsitz im Rat der EU an Ungarn übergegangen. Alle 6 Monate wechselt die Ratspräsident*innenschaft zwischen den Regierungen der EU-Mitgliedsstaaten. Sie moderiert dort die Entscheidungsfindung.

Es ist noch nicht ganz klar wie Ungarn das Thema #Chatkontrolle angehen wird. Das offizielle(!) Motto nach Vorbild Trumps ("Make Europe Great Again") macht aber keine Hoffnung.

Im vorläufigen Arbeitsprogramm ist eine Beschlussfassung im Dezember vorgesehen:
