Ok, anyone what know how to fix Htop? The Mem gauge makes no sense, everything else is working, but my mem gauge is full despite only around 60% in use.

I can’t decide if the exclamation mark is meant to be congratulatory or ominous #htop

Ifoten get told I'm good with #computers I'm not so sure.

Suddenly my computer stops responding. I can move the mouse, but when I click things, nothing happens. I figure I just ran out of memory and waited for the #linux kernel to kill the offending process. Nothing. Reboot. Nothing. Mild panic. Login via terminal, calling #htop. Looks fine. Reboot. Still "stuck". Start crawling through journalctl. Nothing catastrophic is happening here either. Trying to navigate the system by keyboard. That works! What the HELL is going on? Turning on and off the mouse. Connecting the mouse by cable instead of Bluetooth. Still nothing. Say whaaat? Then I give the mouse a good whack, and everything's back to normal.

Folks, don't trust me with your computers.

3 года прожил с 32GB оперы без #swap и не испытывал проблем. Всё изменилось когда решил собрать #firefox сборка выжрала всю оперативную память и система жёстко затормозила (хоть и не зависла) и получил ошибку.

А всему виной #rust который жрёт как не в себя. Сегодня собирал #librewolf и пришлось ограничиться 8 потоками и всё таки подключил #swap (но забыл изменить vm.swappiness = 0 поэтому на скрине #swap = 0).

По монитору максимальный жор оперы который зафиксировал 21GB (6 из которых занято было системой и браузером). И да, оно собралось :blob_excited:

Depuis que je suis sous #Linux #Mint, sur un ordi acheté récemment, je rencontre des "gels" de plusieurs secondes qui m'empêchent de faire quoi que ce soit.

J'ouvre LinkedIn ? Ça gèle quasi systématiquement. J'ouvre LibreOffice ? Ça gèle une fois sur deux. Teams, idem. OnlyOffice, idem.

J'essaie de surveiller ce qu'il se passe avec #htop, mais rien ne m'a sauté aux yeux pour le moment…

I think I understand:

Personally I blieve `htop` is great for checking processes, and `btop` to get "at a glance" dashboard you can put fullscreen on a screen.
