I tried Linux Mint and Fedora 41 today. I like Fedora more because it has a nice UI out of the box and provides the latest kernel and drivers. I play games like GTA 5 and War Thunder, so having the latest kernel and drivers is important for me.

One notable thing is, I didn't face any issues with fractional scaling and display like I did with Ubuntu.

Kindly share your experience below so that I can get rid of Windows, the software I hate most.

I installed Ubuntu on my HP Victus 16 (Ryzen 5, RTX 4050) yesterday, and the experience was horrible. My display was getting dimmed when running on battery, and there was no way to increase the brightness without rebooting. Fractional scaling was also not working.

Now I'm back to debloated Windows 11 Pro Edition.

Installed #arch proper on my #HPVictus last night. tip for those that might run into issues with it booting from a USB A device, find yourself a USB C to A device before you do the install. The USB A ports do some funky power stuff on the Victus and cause the boot ISO to not run properly which I tried to fix manually but alas I couldn't get it to boot. Once I threw my converter into the USB C port, boom. No issues.
