@pozorvlak @simontatham all my config is in #git, and the script that applies the contents of the repository to my home for is unreasonably portable. It even works on #HPUX! If my config doesn’t apply cleanly anywhere I make it more portable immediately.

I managed to get HP-UX to boot on the HP9000/370 in the Virtual OS Museum on macOS, but running under two emulators, it’s unfortunately way too slow—I barely managed to type in the uname command.
I wonder whether it’s any faster with MAME running directly on macOS…

Last update for couple of days, checked the software and we seem to be missing most packages. I have now downloaded the most recent software release so let's see if we can upgrade.
Problem with upgrading is, you need a SCSI CD-Rom drive

As a kid i dreamed of ALL THE tech and what could be. New stuff always excited me but these days it's just dire, the only thing in recent years that brought back some joy was #VR and #RISC_V but everything else coming out, I just wonder how big tech will use it to fuck us up even more...
And as kid I would have also never dreamed that things like a 21 years old #HPUX #Unix workstation would help me stay sane and fill me with true wonder instead.

I'm getting pretty close to finishing my first video on the ubiquity of win16 APIs in 90s computing.
The main bit of research that I'm having a little trouble with is the exact pricing for the SDKs for #solaris, #aix, and #hpux from the mid 90s
Does anyone have a link, or receipts, of purchases, catalogues, etc of things like that?
