    2. Write the way you talk.
    3. Use short words, short sentences and short paragraphs
    4. Never use jargon words
    5. Never write more than 2 pages
    6. Check your quotations
    7. Never send a letter or memo on the day you write it.
    8. Get a colleague to improve it
    9. Make sure it is crystal clear what you want the recipient to do
    10. If you want action, don't write.

  13. Everyone has typos. We sure do, all the time. You need a copyeditor to catch them all, no matter how good you are at doing it yourself. It's about getting a fresh set of eyes on the manuscript (especially a set of eyes attached to a brain that knows all the grammar rules).
