Hey I'm not a music dummy but I'm a MIDI / synth / VST(??) dummy so anyone got any favorite introductory guide books?

I'm such a… classical musician. 🙃 All I ask is do NOT make me learn midi tab.

(Reminds me of the time my ex made me transpose the Violin II part of the entire Sweeney Todd orchestra score into alto clef so he could fill in on viola (we were in the pit together for several shows - I was playing Toby in this one). I mean, he could read treble clef, at least well enough to re-write it. But he made me do it.)(TBF I was quicker but - he would have been just as quick by the end if he'd done it himself! Acquire new / improve current skills when given the chance, people.)

Wi-Fi and the internet are two different things: Wi-Fi connects you to your local network, while the internet connects that network to the rest of the world. If the laptop is connected to WiFi but has no internet access, it means your device is linked to your router, but the router cannot reach the internet. Quick Troubleshooting Steps:

Restart Router/Modem: Unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds to fix most connectivity issues.

Restart Laptop: Resolves temporary software glitches.

Check Other Devices: If other devices can't connect to the Internet, the issue is with your Internet Service Provider (ISP), not your laptop.

Run Network Troubleshooter: In Windows, use the built-in troubleshooter (Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters).

Flush DNS and Renew IP: Open Command Prompt as admin and run: ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew.

Disable VPN/Firewall: Temporarily turn off third-party antivirus or VPN services, as they can block traffic.

Update/Reinstall Drivers: Outdated network adapter drivers can cause connectivity issues.

Forget Wi-Fi Network: "Forget" the network in Settings, then reconnect to refresh the settings.

Run Network Reset (Windows): Search for "network reset" in settings to reset all adapters.

Unable to copy and paste from local computer into a Remote Desktop Server? You need to enable Clipboard access in your Remote Desktop Connection settings.

1.Open Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc)
2.Click on Show Options
3.Go to the Local Resources tab
4.Under Local devices and resources, make sure Clipboard is checked
5.Reconnect to the server
