Legt man Jason Stanleys "ten pillars of fascism" an das tatsächliche Handeln der CDU/CSU an, kann man kaum mehr abstreiten, dass sie sich der Methoden des Faschismus bedient.
Damit gibt es keinen Grund, so rumzuopfern, wie Daniel Günther das hier tut. Hier bellt der getroffene Hund.
Ob man jetzt die CDU insgesamt als faschistisch ansieht (was Pantisano nicht sagt!), hängt davon ab, ob man darin den Wesenskern der gesamten Partei sieht. So weit würde ich aktuell nicht gehen, aber die CDU steht sehr sicher gefährlich nah an der Klippe! Auch, weil es keinen erkennbaren Widerstand gegen das Abdriften der Parteispitze gibt.

@DeweyOxberger these are excellent summaries and book recommendations! ❤️ I found the synopsis of #HowFascismWorks particularly resonant with a situation I've been recently managing.
As the article is Trump-centric I also want to point to a particular kind of modern fascism adjacent to the IDW / CultureWars / 'Jordan Peterson crowd' etc who describe themselves as "dissenting Nazis" and disavow Trump whilst borrowing on a whole lot of new-age communitarian rhetoric. So, competing flavours.

I’m reading #HowFascismWorks by #JasonStanley and he reminds me that a “national shift to “majority-minority”country SIGNIFICANTLY increased politically unaffiliated white Americans’ support for right-wing policies.”
They see it as a “threat to their dominant (social, economic, political, and cultural)
status.”“The exploitation of the feeling of victimization, by dominant groups”…” is a universal element of contemporary intl fascist politics.”
Ergo, IMO—low or no empathy in this mind set.

Of course #Trump is going to present himself as a martyr now that he's a criminal defendant. He's always presented himself as a victim, because one of the basic pillars of #Fascism is that white men are under attack at all times.
Prosecutors haven't made a bluder by allowing Trump to play the martyr. He was going to do it anyway. He was already doing it, and he always will.

I hear some people speculating on whether the #FoxNews revelations will cause #Trump supporters to change their minds.
Of course not. #Fascists don't change their minds based on new facts, instead facts are changed to support their beliefs. One of the pillars of #Fascism is the whole idea that there is no objective truth. That's why Trump is undisputed leader of the #Republican Party. That's why #KellyanneConway somehow still has a career.
