Always nice to see Alaska in national news. A dear friend of mine (used to be my Assistant Principal at Kodiak High) will be Principal at an alternative high school in Utqiagvik. She and her husband left the state for awhile, but Alaska called them back.

The state does that to some folks.

This is a pic taken from Green Top, on the northern end of West Chichagof Island, which is north of Sitka on Baranof Island.

My partner once owned land here near where the Forest Service cabin sits.

That's the Sea Bear, his trolling boat. Taken 6 years ago when I first moved to Sitka.
