Si je ne me trompe pas, c'est un "oiseau du paradis" (Strelitzia Nicolai).
Le problème est évident : la plante est noyée, mon sac de transport était imbibé d'eau 🫠
Je me dis que parfois, le mieux pour une plante, c'est de la laisser tranquille :shibalaugh:
Pas de photo car il fait trop sombre, mais affaire à suivre d'ici quelques jours/semaines pour voir l'évolution 🌱

In #houseplant news I found this monstera clipping abandoned outside a few days ago and adopted it. It’s already perking up and looks like it has a strong base.

My rubber ficus elastica was getting too lanky and flopping over, so I topped it and will attempt to propagate it into a healthier copy.

Well this took me a while. Teased the roots and tried to straighten out the rhizome a bit more, but that didn’t really work out, so I was looking for a stone to attach it to, but that also didn’t work, because that did not fit the pot. This is why now it’s a sphagnum moss ball with a fern in a bonsai pot 🤷‍♂️
Maybe I can find alive moss to make it look more tidy sphagnum moss to me looks so rough or unfinished.

Ok it was time to repot the fern. The rhizome spirals to the bottom of the pot, hard to straighten without breaking it.

I’m currently not very confident to pot a bonsai-like tree plant to the pot, because I’d had to cut quite a lot of root to fit the pot and it’s not the time for this kind of operation.
But this fern (Phlebodium aureum or golden polypody) I grow for around 1.5 years in this 2 x 5 cm pot I did from a tiny, … cup I guess? Don’t really know that this item was originally ment for.
Anyways It’s doing good so far, so it also should in this shallow pot.

A little gift from a friend who just came back from Kyoto, Japan.
Maybe I can find a small #bonsai or #houseplant project, that fits in this pot.

I need some help with this cutting.

It was snapped and hanging off by a thread and I want to propagate it. I've propagated a few before by just leaving them in water.... within a few days it grows roots and then I plant it.

Thing is this is quite long.... Do I cut it?

OR do I leave it having just a big ol' dangly limb hanging out?

I could probably cut it into 3 sections and it should be fine tho 🤔🤔🤔

Came to visit my mum to watch eurovision and see my sister because it was her b'day and it's kinda turned into a small vacation lol.

Today I have sorted out some #houseplants. The whole house is full of them. I came into a whole bunch of Jade and another (totally forgot the name but it is very dangly) and they are insanely simple to propogate leading to me having loads now.

The small one was a tip of the big one and was growing beside it but I've only just separated them.

I know that if you are growing indoor plants you want to pot them in a pot that is relative to their size.

If you have a small plant pot it in a small pot... this is because you want to have a compact root system. In contrast roots of a small plant in a big pot will try and stretch away from the plant meaning smaller roots making it grow slower.

(Or some shit I'm not an expert or something.)

Anyways I found this plant and me thinks it needs repotting XD
