  1. I'm harvesting some of these #hosta shoots to fry up. If you like asparagus & endives - you'd really enjoy eating hosta plant shoots!

Japanese Maple is thriving alongside the Hostas 😮
I prefer not to remove it now, let’s see how it grows 🤔

  3. Perhaps due to amount of snowfall we had last winter, but we find that our garden is doing really well this year. we had never seen so many and so big blooms on hostas ever since we planted them.

    EDIT: corrected some spelling mistakes

  4. After the early-morning alerts from the Ring in the backyard, I went out to inspect what the doe had done. On the left side of the yard she'd been nibbling at things like my 3 bunches of sedum, but much was still there.

Then I started to see the hosta. Some were eaten, some remained. I walked over to the back of the right side of the yard, and she was still there, just eating away! Clearly someone has been feeding her. I had to get quite forceful to get her to leave.

We've been here 8 years, and this is the first time this has happened.

  5. Stopped in to the permanent farmer's market in #Asheville this afternoon, then trundled across the street to the nursery there. Didn't buy anything, but enjoyed the green.

  10. It's #hosta season! With a new #huecheca/coral bells.

And hidden in the #vinca, this little #hydrangea cutting I propagated last year surprised me by coming back; winter took it at about the same size. #garden

  12. Some flowers from my garden for your viewing pleasure (one more pic in the comments)

(btw I thought the flowers in the 3rd picture were from a bee balm plant, but it’s an actually Rocky Mountain Bee Plant! Maybe that is still the same thing, I have no idea.)

(Edit: On 2nd thought, I really have no idea if it’s bee balm or bee plant. Whatever it is, I love it.)

  17. Some photos from my #garden this morning. My goals for my little #wildflower garden (first picture) didn’t pan out this year, but I have a few plucky survivors defying the odds and I’m grateful for them! (Not pictured in the wildflower garden are several flowering blue flax plants, and one unidentified something that was growing strong, then presumably got eaten by a rabbit, and is doing its best to regenerate)
