  12. #nowplaying This is a quite an odd record. Basically #pagan #folk with weird bits of storytelling in between, odd #prog rock and #electronics and strange sound effects. Kind of like an English version of #horslips at their silliest. And yes that is #Colchester Castle on the sleeve. #vinyl #weirdrecords

  16. Homesick
"Don't know how long I've been away
It's hard to say when it's the time to go
Just when you feel your dues are paid
You got it made, there's nothing left to show
Outside my room a light is flashing
So the night can never gain a hold
And in the language that the stranger
Doesn't know he's often easy rolled

And though I'm finding it hard to smile
I get the feeling that in a while
    It's alright
I was feeling kind of homesick
    But that's alright
    It's alright
I was feeling kind of homesick
    But that's alright

    Chances are for takin'
Fortune'll smile on the boldest one
    Don't feel forsaken
Keep on believing your time will come
    And you'll see it through

Don't know how long I'vе been away
It's hard to say when it's the time to go
Just when you feel your dues are paid
You got it made, there's nothing left to show

  17. I love these old videos of live performances by one of my favorite bands, Horslips. Yeah, I know, odd name, but great music! The band members are so young and so thin back in those days. Here's Mad Pat from 1975.

Rest in Peace and in Music, Johnny Fean. You played a mean guitar, sir.

  18. Still sad over the loss of Johnny Fean. Wish I would have been able to see him live playing and singing with his bandmates in Horslips at least one time. But I guess I'll have to take advantage of great uploads like this to hold him and his music in my heart and mind. Rest in Peace and in Music, Johnny. I'm happy to have met you through your music, and sorry to see you part from this world. You inspired me, you wowed me, you rocked me. Thank you!

Won't you enjoy this live performance with the Ulster Orchestra with me on this fine Friday?

  19. Ha muerto Johnny Dean, guitarrista de los #Horslips, intérprete de uno de mis 'riffs' favoritos de la música irlandesa. No es original de la canción, sino parte de la 'Marcha de los O'Neill', un tema tradicional.

  28. So this morning I am again listening to the #Horslips. The album is #TheTain. A superb album about a petty dispute that escalated... Some things never change 😁

  32. This is a great piece to mark Horslips' last gig.

The 1st music photos I ever took were of Horslips.

Thanks to a family connection, I've been lucky enough to see them play many times.

Beir Bua lads, you will always be Celtic Rock Gods. 🤟
