There are a few community orchards/gardens around my area. One lady runs a #freefoodinitiative and was wanting to have information about the different produce e.g. when it could be picked etc. I've suggested that each type of produce get a URL and we can then put QR codes (with URLs) on stakes next to them so that people can find out more. I think this been in place at #Horsforth rail station for about 3 years? Give or take. #NorthernRail on the job as usual. I think they’re waiting for it to rewild itself.

I maintain a local area website. This week I've been improving my events editing/listing code. The big upgrade has been to allow repeating events e.g. pub quiz nights or repair cafes. That's so that I can create one entry for them rather than many. To do it I've used (a subset of) https://icalendar.org/iCalendar-RFC-5545/3-8-5-3-recurrence-rule.html because then it's easy to keep the iCal updated. I wrote a little bit of code to work out the repeats so that I could show the full list of events at https://horsforth.town/events/

I maintain the events listings by keeping an eye out and people occasionally emailing me.

It is a locally sourced, built, and run website.

For any #Horsforth people interested, I've started making a local website that takes data from Open Street Map and shows it in directory form: https://horsforth.town/ It partly came from realising the domain was free but I also hoped to both find stuff that I hadn't known about and make it easier to see what metadata was out-of-date on OSM given the turnover of businesses. As a result I've already changed a bunch of Food Standards Agency IDs that didn't match up.
