I first saw this amazing animated fantasy horror short at the Ravenheart international film festival in Oslo a few years ago. Wonderful stop-motion animations, and what starts out bright and fun, quickly turns into a sinister and much darker tale.
Les Bêtes is made by Michael Granberry and with original score by Lito Velasco.

It's been way too long since I've posted anything in this channel, so all the more reason to point your attention to this masterful little short I just came across. So simple in premise, but also one of the more intense horror shorts I've seen.Clinging to a smooth, curved surface high above a sentient abyss, a girl tries to cover the few feet back to safety without losing purchase and falling to her death.

Abracitos is a brilliantly intense and creepy short film by Tony Morales. This is a great example of how to create a chilling and intense atmosphere without a lot of effects or elaborate setup. Through good use of timing, a recognizable setting and minimal dialogue, the story unfolds while slowly drawing the viewer into the world of the film.
I first watched this at the Ravenheart International Film Festival in Oslo in 2020, but was just recently reminded about it again because it was reuploaded to the director's Vimeo chanel.
Watch Abracitos on Vimeo. This has remained one of my favourites since I saw it the first time.

I liked this one a lot! It's slow enough that it allows for a story to build without revealing too much, keeping the mystery intact until the end. Very well made, and shows that a good horror can be made without relying on jump scares and effects.
