Okie this next #HopeInHumanity happens to be my dear friend @cR0w. cR0w is the kind of friend you want in the trenches with you. He is loyal, hardworking, funny and so humble I had to agree to make the next one about me to be able to write one about him. So yeah... That's going to happen... Eventually.
I haven't known him for the longest time relatively speaking but he so quickly became a person difficult to imagine many of my days without. We have supported each other through difficult days and enjoyed many moments of laughter all while across the country from each other.
There is such goodness in his heart. Knowing him you quickly realize he wants to put it out into the world. Not because he has the hubris to think he can fix everything, but because he cares enough to do good regardless of how the world turns out. He has been a great support.
He is also one of the few people I really enjoy disagreeing with because it always ends up in a thoughtful and enriching conversation. Im really thankful to have him in my life. Thanks for existing here with me and all of us 💙

Okie doke time for my third #HopeInHumanity post where I highlight people (past and present) that give me hope for our present and future. Today's person isss

@mttaggart! I've gotten a chance to get to know Taggart working on @ifin together. He saw that our field was struggling and wanted to be part of the positive change, so he brought a few folks here on fedi together to start working on the organization we know and love today.
He is passionate, intelligent, hard working, and genuinely one of the most thoughtful people I have come to know. When you start to get to know him you begin realize just how much thought and energy he puts into his beliefs, how much he is constantly reevaluating them for validity when incorporating new information and just how hard he is working on trying to leave the world better off. All while doing his own work, writing, being with his family and working on a billion different projects. Honestly impressive. I am really proud to call him a friend and feel lucky to have him with us on this beautiful, blue spaceship flying through the solar system.

I was waiting at the coffee window at Barry train station in my wheelchair. They were busy serving in the cafe and I hadn't noticed the bell hidden behind the little advertising wall in front of the window.
A woman came over on her way out of the station and said "do you want me to ding that?" She dinged it for me and moved it a little forward so I could see it.
And I got my coffee!

I had had some bad news in the 24 hours prior to going shopping. I had decided to go to the supermarket with my two young children who were very upset and tired. When I got to the checkout, my phone had gone dead so I couldn’t use contactless and I couldn’t remember my PIN number for my card (the shop was above £100)."

“I saw a guy (who is a colleague of mine) pay for a girl's ticket on the bus when hers wasn't working for some reason.
Funnily enough I was just thinking about if I should go do it when he did.”
