  1. DiscogsDienstag: The Jesus & Mary Chain – Stoned & Dethroned

  3. MAZZY STAR
    Among My Swan
    2025 U.S. reissue
    Bone White vinyl

Perfect album for a slow, lazy Sunday afternoon.

Hope Sandoval is just one of my many future wives.

Her voice is otherworldly and stirs my soul in a way few other female singers have.

Mazzy Star records, any of them, are just “throw them on and let it go without thinking about it” records.

Among My Swan is just as good as So Tonight That I Might See, if not better. I certainly prefer it to the former, as I find it a bit more well constructed and cohesive a record.
But again, as long as Hope Sandoval is singing, it just does not matter. ANY of them are great.

  8. Just came across this performance on YouTube. This really was the music of my youth. I may have initially at high school started with liking Sting, The Dire Straits, The Smiths, but I quickly saw the light and it became all female (fronted) music for me: The Throwing Muses, The Sundays and definitely Mazzy Star. Here's the latter on a Dutch radio show doing Flowers in December. 26 years ago... I have all their CDs of the time and I also have their more recent albums as well as Hope Sandoval's solo albums from iTunes.

  9. Now I have to listen to Mazzy Star since that music was used in the film. This is music from my youth which at the time no one listened to but me. And apparently some people who since have gotten jobs making film soundtracks. So now their music is quite ubiquitous. Hope Sandoval’s voice is so gorgeous.
