💁🏻♀️ TIL: 🏜️🌊 Founded by #Mormon settlers in 1865, St. Thomas, #Nevada sat in the path of #HooverDam’s new #reservoir.
Floodwaters from #LakeMead gradually submerged the town, and its last resident rowed away in July of 1938. Now, after a #megadrought dating to the early #2000s, the #ruins of its school, hotel, post office, and ice cream parlor have re-emerged, and low #water levels allow visitors to walk the site.
