@fabriziocaputo Qualche Istanza Invidious l'ho ben vista chiudere a dir il vero, ma a parte questo l'utilità del plugin sta anche nel fatto che magari io e te usiamo una certa Istanza #invidious ma chi legge potrebbe prefereire usarne un'altra che ha personalizzato a suo piacere o magari preferisce usare frontend diversi come #hooktube. Come però fai notare, non tutti sanno/vogliono installare plugin (ma su smartphone basta aver installato #NewPipe che è eccezionale e fa di tutto) 🙂 @ilpk94

Я вижу тенденцию #google браться за решение проблемы недосмотров их рекламы:

• изменения в api нарушающие работу блокировщиков рекламы
• собственная блокировка агрессивной рекламы и свой чёрный список сайтов злоупотребляющих
• исключение режима читалки
• страшилка о блокировке аккаунта за использование #newpipe
• блокировка ip-адресов #invidious и #hooktube

@mike_hales invidious.us is just an alternative way of viewing YT videos without using their non-free JavaScript, like #HookTube used to be, before gOgle threatened to sue them and they caved. You can replace invidious.us with hooktube.com or youtube.com in the URL if it makes it easier for you to use, or you can just search for the talk titles in the invidio.us search bar.

YouTube videos that is basically an image w/ music on top is a GRAVE WASTE OF BANDWITH.
And YouTube=evil anyway.

It should be common courtesy to share video links through #hooktube. For privacy's sake, yeah, but also because when someone sends me a steamed hams edit they like I don't want to be recommended nothing but steamed hams for the next 6 months

@LWFlouisa don't think so. I think allowing downloads was one of the things that got #HookTube in trouble with YT. You know about #youtube-dl?

I've been informed that due to legal threats by goOgle corp, #HookTube is no longer anonymous and their download system no longer works (refers to third party service instead), and that #Invidio.us is a better choice for those purposes.

Just discovered #HookTube. Take any YT video, replace "youtube" in the URL with "hooktube", and watch it without any of goOgle's proprietary JS or spyware knowing you're there. For example:

Since #Hooktube was using Google's API for YouTube access, they've effectively been cease-and-desisted out of relevancy. Found a good alternative for Android users... Allows download, allegedly blocks tracking: #newpipe
