Hoy Vallekas volverá a homenajear a Amós Acero, maestro, socialista y primer alcalde democrático de Vallecas en la República y a todos los antifascistas represaliados por el franquismo en nuestro barrio durante la dictadura.

Junto a él, cientos de miles de personas fueron represaliadas por el régimen fascista a lo largo de sus casi 40 años de existencia, una represión que se cebó especialmente con pueblos y barrios obreros y luchadores como el nuestro.

En estas últimas legislaturas, hemos visto como proliferan peligroso discursos totalitaristas, retrógrados, xenófobos, como se usa la desinformación para engañar a los ciudadanos y se instigan sin tapujos desde cualquier medio para intentar revertir el poder, mientras se delibera a ver quién es el más corrupto entre centenares de causas judiciales que abarcan a los grandes partidos de la transición, los responsables democráticos de la República, como fue Amós Acero, siguen siendo exponentes de valores, de honestidad y de ética. Su forma de vida y su consideración de la política entendida como servicio público, suponen una insultante contraposición con esa otra concepción, caracterizada por la insolidaridad, incompetencia, corrupción, egoísmo y defensa -más o menos indisimulada- de los intereses de los privilegiados.

Este acto de homenaje tendrá lugar en el Parque Amós Acero a las 20:00h y es convocado por colectivos y organizaciones políticas, sociales y memorialistas de Vallekas.
