I’m preparing to sell my #HondaElement (don’t really use it, don’t like cars, glad I don’t need it) which involves disassembling the #DIY micro camper build-out in the back and the solar panel roof-rack on top.
End of an era, a little sad, as it was one of my most successful projects.
But the good news: I now have a decent stock of 8020 aluminum profile and a ton of associated hardware for a bunch of other projects, and it’s the correct gauge for my #BikesAtWork trailer.

Ticked off some car jobs today - new bug/stone deflector fitted, new rain shields on the front windows, and a new trim piece around the gear stick which I managed to find someone selling in Japan. Yes the car also desperately needs a wash, maybe I'll do that tomorrow. #hondaelement

20 years and 300K km later, the little beast keeps humming along.

Fitted a roof tray to the car ready for loading it up and going on summer trips. There just about enough room for an awning to go on there next to it so that’ll be up next. #hondaelement #honda #JDM #エレメント

🚙 #HondaElement dash would always show rear hatch open.
💡 Battery kept draining while parked, even though all dome lights were off.
⚡ Multimeter showed 130mA draw when car's off.
🔧 One of the three hatch latches wasn't closing. Fixed that latch, multimeter shows no draw while car's off.
Lesson learned: a constant 130mA draw can drain a 12v car battery rather quickly...

First solo drive and first time driving my new car done. A very tense trip to Big Tesco no less. This car is large, it’s going to take some getting used to, but today was a good milestone and I didn’t hit anyone or anything so that’s going down as a win. #HondaElement

Every once in a while, I'll spot one of these silver #HondaElement SC’s. They always somehow look brand new, to the point I was wondering if there was some factory in Mexico that was still cranking them out or something.

Through a weird confluence of events, I’ll be heading out on a solo jaunt through western #Washington state, largely focused on the #OlympicPeninsula. I haven’t gone on a solo trip in a very long time, but I used to do some solo #BikeTouring (the cool kids call it #BikePacking now, I hear, or maybe that specifically applies to off-road stuff?) in the #PacNW, sometimes in the winter even. I’ll be in my in my #HondaElement instead this time. I built a #DIY #MicroCamper in the back.
