This home taped #OtisRedding & #JimiHendrixExperience #8TrackCartridge eBay-find initially had me stumped. Where oh where had I seen those long legs on the original tape label peeking out from underneath at the bottom? Then I flashed on it: it's the Fool On The Hill album by #SergioMendesAndBrasil66, that easy-listening warhorse of conservative household music collections all across the US in the early 70s.

Finally, Sergio M. is going to good use.

(Also note: this taper went and split both "Satisfaction" and "Like a Rolling Stone" across programs - proof he/she was a truly sensible 8-track listener)

It's a banger of an album, by the way. You may wonder how I owned it without knowing about Byrne's involvement. Well, truth is, I owned a tape of it that a friend recorded off his vinyl, so I never got the chance to pore over the liner notes.

It was the 1980s, you see, and Home Taping Was Killing Music. At least we tried to kill it before Morrissey went solo and Van Morrison got weird. Sadly we failed in that endeavor.
