Here is some good news at last. The power of #renewables are showing their strengh in the #EnergyMarket
“Energy bills for households and small businesses will fall by up to 10% from July across parts of the eastern states, as a new industry survey shows record levels of renewables and batteries in the power grid.”
Yet some Big #Corporation #Grifters are balking at #Transitioning to renewables and electrification (BHP for one).

The real issue here is the possibility to excise all #ProfitMaking #PowerGeneration from the Australian Grid. And the concerted efforts of #corporations to maintain their #RevenueChannels come what may with the help of current govt(s) support (legislative, regulatory, Tax and Funding support).
Full #HomePV penetration backed by #CommunityBatteries and #PublicInfrastructure (Transmission and control systems) could provide #FreeElectricity to all Homes in Australia. #ProfitMaking providers would be restricted to commercial consumption and exports (suitably taxed for a healthy and equitable economy). None of this is beyond the realms of possibility, political will is the only thing lacking to make the #3HoursFreeElectricity a 24 hour reality.

I know, riht? I see that AGL is already pushing the idea to consumers. Where there’s a buck to be made…Some Community Battery projects (can’t confirm) seem to be off grid though. That would be the way to go. What energy providers decide to do is their business as long as consumers have a choice and their govt representatives do their f***ing job right.
There is also a need for technology to allow individual consumers to ‘program in’ how they wish to use their PV outputs and control their grid connection accordingly. This might require legislation though, who knows.
